Apply for a position
Are you between 15 and 30 years of age? The Morning Glory Employment Training Program could be your ticket to full-time employment!
Benefits include:
- Recent experience on your resume
- Personalized training
- Get paid while you learn
The Morning Glory Café and Bakery provides a caring atmosphere of acceptance that nurtures your confidence and dignity. Our goal is to prepare you for work in the community through the development of transferable job skills. An important part of this preparation is to help you identify and address your unique needs and risk areas.
This program runs for up to six months depending on how much time you need to be ready to find work in the community. The three positions available are customer service provider, food preparation/kitchen helper and baker's assistant. During your training you will receive skills in all of these areas but will focus on one job.
So, does it work?
In our three and a half years of operation over 50 people have graduated from the program! Most graduates have found work or returned to school.
Hear it from someone who knows:
Thank God for a place like Morning Glory. For 5 years I had no job and I handed out resumes for a dishwasher. Of all the places I applied, no one ever called me back.
Then one day I got a phone call from Morning Glory and it made my day!
I would like to thank Morning Glory for hiring me and giving me a chance. We need more places like Morning Glory. The things that I learned at Morning Glory helped me big time in getting a job at del Dente (Charcoal Steakhouse).
My big dream is to one day open an ice cream place called "2 Scoops". I would like to say thank you to Ray of Hope – just that name says it all. Without God and Morning Glory I would not have gotten this job. I pray that God will bless all of you with His love.
This participant graduated from the Morning Glory program in June 2001. He has been working as a dishwasher for del Dente ever since.
